Department of Psychiatry

St. Joseph’s Health Centre – Psychiatrists positions

St. Joseph’s Health Centre is a community teaching hospital that has served the health care needs of the diverse communities of South West Toronto for more than 90 years.

St. Joe’s Vision is to be Canada’s Best Community Teaching Hospital. Students from a wide variety of health care professions choose St. Joe’s for the unique learning opportunities.  Our staff endeavours to support and encourage students as they learn how to deliver the best care to meet the needs of our patients, their families and the communities that we serve.

Evaluation, thoughtful reflection, teaching and continuing professional development are critical to delivering quality health care.  Psychiatry is an area of medicine that is especially permeated with uncertainty and particularly requires critical reflection and the pursuit of new knowledge.  Consequently, the Department of Psychiatry at SJHC is working to create an environment of shared curiosity and inquiry with the goal of fostering innovation in clinical care and education.  We are seeking individuals that are passionate about improving psychiatric practice and education.

The Department of Psychiatry has currently 4 openings for Psychiatrists licensed to practice in the Province of Ontario.

  • 1 Full-time Geriatric Psychiatrist
  • 1 Full-time Outpatient General Psychiatrist to work in ambulatory service
  • 2 Full-time Inpatient Psychiatrists

New graduates who have completed their training in June 2013 are welcome.
