The Department of Psychiatry strives to lead in all areas of mental health. Whether making a difference in developing countries, across the province, or in our own communities within the GTA, we will continue to lend our focus to the issues that matter most.
For ten years, Dr. Clare Pain and her colleagues have been building capacity in Ethiopia with the Toronto Addis Ababa Psychiatry Project.
Many of our colleagues are involved in northern Ontario outreach, as far away as Baffin Island. Telepsychiatry and regular trips are helping to ensure that psychiatric care is available in more rural areas.
Dr. Arun Ravindran is lending his worldly experience and knowledge to the Global Mental Health Affairs Program. He has organized and participated in capacity building and educational initiatives in Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, the Middle East and many other countries.
