While educational research has not been a primary activity for Dr. Teshima, he has collaborated with others on a number of educational research projects and hope to continue to do so into the future.
Dr. Teshima is a child and adolescent psychiatrist, who primarily works on a youth inpatient unit. Dr. Teshima also provide monthly outreach clinics to Temiskaming Shores, a community in northeastern Ontario.
His main academic activities have been teaching and education at a variety of levels including medical students, Psychiatry residents, faculty, and mental health practitioners in the community. Dr. Teshima has had extensive experience developing education programs delivered by videoconferencing. Currently he is the Director of Faculty Development for the Department of Psychiatry and have worked on developing new programs to help faculty with their teaching skills and academic career development.
