Dr. Aitken’s research focuses on understanding transdiagnostic factors in the development and treatment of child and adolescent psychopathology. As a clinician investigator in the Cundill Centre for Child and Youth Depression, she is currently examining: 1) general psychopathology factors and their relation to treatment outcomes for youth with depression; and 2) parent-child factors and how these can be leveraged to enhance treatment outcomes.
Dr. Aitken is a clinician investigator in the Cundill Centre for Child and Youth Depression and a psychologist in the Child, Youth and Emerging Adult Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. She is Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. Dr. Aitken works with children and adolescents experiencing mood, anxiety, and disruptive behaviour disorders, and their parents.
