Dr. Boyle is a staff psychiatrist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in a clinical practice with expertise in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.  He has a special interest in acute inpatient rehabilitation settings as well as general outpatient psychiatry.  He also has expertise in the treatment of mental health conditions impacting survivors of burn injuries.

He is highly involved in both undergraduate (medical school), and postgraduate residency teaching.  He is currently the co-week lead for mood and anxiety disorders teaching pre-clerkship students at the University of Toronto.  He was previously the inaugural Transition to Discipline Lead for the UofT psychiatry residency program and developed the ground school curriculum for UofT psychiatry residents.  In his current role as postgraduate site director, Dr. Boyle helps to coordinate all resident education activities in psychiatry at Sunnybrook.

Dr. Boyle is a sought after teacher and supervisor.  He has been the recipient of numerous local and international teaching awards including The Peters-Boyd Academy Teaching Award for Undergraduate Teaching, MD Program Teaching Award of Excellence, The Robin Hunter Award for Postgraduate Teaching, The Marie Mara Award for Resident Advocacy, and the Association for Academic Psychiatry Early Career Development Award.
