Research Synopsis

Her research interests focus on the inclusion of families in the life of the hospital as advisors, educators and experts through the lens of critical sociology. She is also interested in helping to preparing mental health care professionals to address the needs of an increasingly diverse, complex society and fosters a critical sociological consciousness to ensure that social justice and humanistic care are as important as neuroscientific and pharmacological aspects of care. The themes of relationship-centred care, social justice, co-creation and humanism have guided her work.
