Alexander Bahadur

Dr. Alexander G. Bahadur is a psychiatry resident at the University of Toronto. He completed his medical doctorate training at the University of Ottawa, and his Bachelor of Health Sciences at McMaster University. He is currently working with Dr. Petal Abdool, Dr. Sanjeev Sockalingam, and members of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) Simulation Centre team to explore the use of immersive virtual reality to enhance simulation-based psychiatric medical education.

Hannah Kearney

Hannah Kearney is a PGY3 Psychiatry resident at the University of Toronto. Before starting her residency training, she received her Honours Bachelors of Science (2017), Master of Science in Psychology (2018), and Doctor of Medicine (2021) degrees at McMaster University. Her clinical interests include acute care psychiatry, gender-inclusive care, and quality improvement. As one of the current Chief Residents at CAMH, she is also passionate about medical education and resident wellbeing.

Bahar Orang

Bahar Orang completed her MD at McMaster University and holds an MA in Comparative Literature from the University of Toronto. She is currently a PhD student in Cultural Studies at Queen’s University. Her research takes up carceral studies, anticolonial political theory, and critical race theory. She also has an active creative practice outside of medicine as a poet. She has publications forthcoming in the Routledge Handbook of Medicine and Poetry, Canadian Journal of Disability Studies, Interventions: International Journal of Postcolonial Studies, and Psychoanalysis, Society, and Culture.

Nikhita Singhal

Nikhita Singhal completed her undergraduate degree and medical training at McMaster University. She is passionate about social justice and advocacy work, contributing to psychiatric education, and exploring novel and innovative emerging treatments including psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. She hopes to pursue subspecialty training in child and adolescent psychiatry; areas of clinical interest include substance use and eating disorders. Her Clinician Scholar Program project is focused on enhancing child and adolescent psychiatry training in equity, diversity, and inclusion principles through the development of virtual modules, with a focus on integrating input from youth and families with lived experience. She is also engaged in several other education scholarship initiatives (including through the PsychEd Podcast) as well as research focused on psychedelics.

Claire Stanley

Claire Stanley holds an MD from University of Toronto. She is currently a fourth year psychiatry resident at the University of Toronto. Her research interest surrounds exploring novel intensive outreach services for older adults with severe mental illness. She is working with Dr. Sarah Colman and Dr. Vicky Stergiopoulos to study a novel psychogeriatric assertive community treatment team using a quality improvement approach.

David Wiercigroch

Dr. David Wiercigroch is a resident physician in psychiatry at the University of Toronto. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toronto and Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) from the School of Policy Studies at Queen’s University. His clinical interests are in medical psychiatry and acute care psychiatry.

He is interested in improving models of psychiatric care, integration of services, and health system innovation. His current work focuses on quality of care for patients with co-occurring mental and physical health issues, through use of validated of scales to measure symptomatology and implementation of measurement-based care. 

Dr. David Wiercigroch also has interests in medical education, and health technology.
