Accomplishments

Division of Psychotherapy, Humanities, and Psychosocial Interventions is actively involved in the national CCME-affiliated “Creating Space for the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences in Health Professional Education” yearly conference, and co-sponsors with the Department of Family and Community Medicine an annual health humanities city-wide rounds.  There is an annual psychotherapy academic day, as well as Don Wasylenki Education Scholarship Day.

To support faculty and resident well-being, Performing Psychiatry is an biennial community-building event where the creative pursuits of faculty, staff and residents are featured.  The Divisions supports medical trainee, physician well-being and community-building initiatives. The Division also continues to ARS MEDICA, an award-winning biannual literary journal started in 2004, that explores the interface between the arts and healing, and examines what makes medicine an art.
