Dr. Ipsita Ray is a staff psychiatrist in the Forensic Division at CAMH. Dr. Ray’s clinical interests are in forensics and secure services for women. She has undertaken clinical session with the Forensic Early Intervention Services at Vanier Centre for Women.

Prior to Dr. Ray’s appointment as an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, she completed her clinical fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at UofT. Additionally, she has worked in the West Park Healthcare Centre, Toronto providing consultation services to patients requiring psychiatric assessments.

Dr. Ray is a strong believer in shared-risk assessment and recovery journey for her patients. This model encourages forensic patients to be actively involved in assessing their risks and plans their path to recovery.


Research Synopsis

Her main research interests are related to the assessment and treatment of women in forensic mental health and criminal justice systems, and the development and evaluation of new models of care for these groups.
