Research Synopsis

Appropriate analysis of data is a key part of genetic research. Large datasets with complex correlation structures, confounding factors and diverse data types are typical. My group develops novel methods to allow researchers to interrogate such data efficiently combining the diverse data sources and allowing us identify genes involved in complex traits. Current projects include one in which we are developing new ways incorporate gene ontology data and another employing machine learning to enable the incorporation of functional data. We work on a wide range of different types of experiments such as genome-wide association studies, next-generation sequencing projects and epigenetic analysis.
